Our contributing writer, correspondent Marc Roscoe Loustau, asks of us Christians in the U.S., “What wisdom might we glean from our global religious companions, people in societies where polarization and political violence are also walking hand-in-hand?” By going “abroad,” he suggests we can find “wisdom to support the resistance” to the Trump administration.
Accordingly, Mr. Loustau takes us inside the experience of Christians in Slovakia. There he met with “leaders of Slovakia’s Lutheran denomination, the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (ECAV)” which included “bishops, local pastors, theologians, and Lutheran politicians.”
Today we offer part one of his investigation, and tomorrow part two.
