Access to Your Personal Information Is Now in the Hands of Elon Musk and the Trump Mafia

Presumably you are staying up with the news. However, if you are not, then sleeping through the takeover of the U.S. government by enemies of the people from within the Trump administration will do nothing toward safeguarding us from further becoming victims of their treachery.

Nor will remaining in the dark give us the opportunity to prepare for worst-case scenarios that we may all face. If you think the price of eggs is outrageous due to the bird flu, just wait.

Beloved, we are living under the thumb of a rapidly mushrooming dictatorship. To pretend otherwise is to sabotage ourselves while Trump sabotages our democracy.

From time to time, we will publish information we believe responsible Christians need to know. The late theologian Karl Barth was quite right to say that preachers should proceed with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. But it is not only preachers. We all need to be astute students of what is happening in the world around us while we steep ourselves in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the books of Moses and the prophets.

As for the privacy of our personal information, it is only less secure now than ever in the hands of the federal government. At a minimum, we should contact our representatives in the U.S. Congress and Senate and register our formal complaints.
